数年前にイングリッシュヴィレッヂ錦糸町校で働いていたTommyが遊びに来てくれました！！

今はイギリスのニューキャッスルの病院でコンピュータープログラマーをしているとの事で、数年ぶりに会っても全然変わらないナイスなTommyでした。

当時働いていた時も、Tommyはとても優しく、多くの生徒さんから慕われいました。週に1回日本語のレッスンをとても熱心に受けていて上達ぶりに驚いたのを覚えています。私達のテキストブックは全て手作りなのですが、彼の空き時間に一緒に手伝ってくれた事もよく覚えています。今まで手伝ってくれたのはTommyだけだったので、今でもとても感謝しています。

イギリスから日本に来た時に、当時働いていた男性スタッフが緑茶をトライしてみてとTommyに渡し、その緑茶を飲んだTommyが渋い表情をし、微妙な反応だったのに、その次の年には気付いたら自分から緑茶を美味しいと飲んでいた事などいろいろ思い出しました。

そして、うちのカフェMary Pearson’s Kitchenのハーブティーセットを堪能してくれました♪

ハーブティーはTommyチョイスの「Elderflower Dawn」。

ハーブティーもスコーンも美味しい！と笑顔満載のTommyでした。

I managed to catch up with Tommy this week-we’re still into many of the same bands/similar music. Just too much music, too little time as usual!

I spent a really nice afternoon at the English Village last week. The scones and tea were both excellent. It was really good to see misato again, we had a nice chat. I also talked to naill which was interesting, we have a lot in common. I was very impressed by the new English Village, it has a very comfortable atmosphere. It was strange being in Kinshicho again, it seems quite different since I lived there. If anyone is ever in Newcastle please get in touch, I promise to pop in to the English Village next time I come to Tokyo.
