イギリス人ルーシーは日本に英語の講師として来ました。

最近まだまだ暑いですね～。そこで。。。

（レッスン　１０２）

ルーシー：私、普段お化粧しないじゃない、でもこの暑い天気では毎日

　　　　　日焼け止めを塗らなくちゃいけなくて、それが結構めんどくさい！

ルーシー
の友だち：私も同じ！

ルーシー：You（　）I（　）don’t（　）（　）, but in this hot（　）,

　　　　　I（　）to（　）sun（　）every day,（　）is（　）（　）!

ルーシー
の友だち：（　）here!

ルーシー：You know I normally don’t wear makeup, but in this hot weather,

　　　　　I have to wear sun block every day, which is quite troublesome!

ルーシー
の友だち：Same here!

【解説】

★You know＝ご存知でしょうが、知ってるでしょうが、

★normally＝普通、普段

★wear＝（顔に）付けている

　＊ ″wear″は ″着る″という意味でみなさんご存知だと思いますが、

　　身に付ける、顔に付ける系にも使います。

　　例えば、口紅を付ける、帽子をかぶるなどなど。

★makeup＝化粧

★weather＝天気

★have to＝～しなければならない

★sun block＝日焼け止め

★every day＝毎日

★quite＝結構

★which＝それは

　＊この ″which″は関係代名詞です。

　　この関係代名詞はWhichの前の文章を更に説明したい時に使うんです。

　　便利ですよ。

★troublesome＝面倒くさい

★Same here＝私も同じ

　＊上記の文章での‘Same here’には

　　‘So do I’,‘So have I’,‘So did I’, etcを

　　替わりに使う事ができます。

　例－A: I hate getting up early.

　　　 ＝私は早起きするのが嫌いです。

　　　B: Same here.

　　　 ＝私も同じです。

♪雑学を学ぼう！♪

みなさん、

イギリス人は肌が白いので、ひりひりするまで日焼けをするのは結構危険だ

と知っていましたか？

そのため、夏には日焼け止めをつけることはとても大切なのです。特に日差

しが強い所では必要です。近頃、イギリスでは皮膚がんになる人の数が増え

ているんです。その理由はきっと昔より暑い国を訪れる人が増えたからだと

私は思います。みなさんもご存知でしょうが、イギリスにはいろんな色の目

をした人がいます。それに比べて、全ての日本人は濃い茶色の目をしていま

す。

一般的にイギリスでは、濃い茶色の目と暗い色の髪の人は、青い目や金髪の

髪をしている人よりも皮膚がんにならないと言われているんです。これって

興味深いと思いませんか？

Hello, everybody!

Did you know that getting sunburnt is quite dangerous for English

people, because their skin is white?

That’s why it’s very important for them to wear sun block in summer,

especially in places where there’s strong sunshine. Nowadays, the

number of people who have skin cancer is increasing in England.

I suppose the reason is that they visit hot countries more than

before. As you know, eye colour varies in England, whereas all

Japanese people have dark brown eyes.

Generally speaking, in England, people who have dark brown eyes and

dark hair are less likely to contract skin cancer than people who

have blue eyes and blonde hair. Isn’t it interesting to know?

【フレーズを覚えよう！】

☆下記の文章での現在進行形は

　だんだんある事が変わってきている時に使います。

‘…the number of people who have skin cancer is increasing in England.’

例－Summers are getting hotter in Europe.

　＝ヨーロッパの夏はだんだん暑くなってきています。
