Hot Drinks

Good to see some wintry drinks turning up in the drinks machines. My favourite last year was a Hot Caramel by Morinaga. They’re in with a bullet at No.1 again this year-Hot Pancake with Maple Syrup flavour. If your tooth is as sweet as mine it’s a true hot drinks sensation and will take some beating.

米粉の出現

最近よく米粉のお菓子やパンが紹介されています。
小麦粉よりヘルシーで、しっとりとした食感のようです。
お米が洋風に変身するとは、初めは驚きました。
米どころ出身で断然”パン派”の私としては、嬉しいことです！
家庭でもお米からパンが焼ける器械が発売されたということで、
これからもっともっと普及していきそうですね。

Cooler Weather!

I’m really appreciating temperatures of 24-25 degrees as opposed to 34-35! September seems to have gone by supersonically fast whereas August really dragged. I’ve been enjoying some of the typhoon type weather too-I love watching thunder and lightning from indoors.

お彼岸

今日はお彼岸ですが生憎の雨模様です。
お墓参りなどの習慣があまり無い私はお彼岸＝（イコール）“おはぎ”ぐらいしか頭に浮かびません。きっと手作りしたら美味しいのだろうな、と思いながら未だかつてチャレンジしたことが無いので是非、来年は！と思っています。おはぎ作りに自信あり、という方がいらっしゃれば伝授お願いします！

Pets

Or more specifically, cats. I love all animals (well, maybe not sharks-it’s the big teeth and predatory nature, sorry sharks) but I really love cats. We can’t keep pets in our current accomodation so I always want to abduct the kittens whenever we visit a pet shop. My parents have just got a really diddly (& ultra cute) new kitten back in Britain so now I really want one-itsuka!

自然界の不思議

今日何気なくテレビを見ていたら、源氏ボタルが成虫になる様子を映していました。みかんの葉をむしゃむしゃ食べているいも虫みたいな幼虫時代から少しづつ姿をかえて、そのうちさなぎになり脱皮したと思ったらちゃーんと蛍の形をしていたのです。自然の営みはすごいですね。蛍がさなぎから出てくることすら知らなかった私は一人で「ほぉーっ」と感嘆してしまいました。

Seventeen Ice Spiritual Experience

What can I say? Autumn is arriving and there are new flavours in the air-nice. Ito-Yokado, Monday, a powerful moment when I discover a new flavour in the vending machine. Current favourites Strawberry (9/10) and Lemon Cheesecake (10/10) are effortlessly surpassed by Raspberry Cheesecake. An 11/10 ice cream if ever there was one. Well played Glico! Truly superb, my quest for new autumn chocolate/ice cream flavours continues forthwith!
